Weymouth Museum's collection reflects the social and maritime history of the area and includes the unique Bussell Collection of pictures and prints of Weymouth and its surrounding area. The exhibitions cover, amongst others, the patronage of King George III at the end of the eighteenth century and the development of the resort as a 'maritime spa'.

Weymouth Museum's displays also include a Victorian kitchen, the Hope Square Fire Brigade, the cobbler's workshop, Borough Regalia, and bus and rail transport.

There is also a strong maritime influence with displays on the RNLI, the Whitehead Torpedo Works, the Cosens paddle steamers and the ivory trade. Weymouth Museum also has artefacts rescued from the First HMS Hood, which was scuttled in 1914 to block the southern entrance to Portland Harbour.

The Weymouth Museum collection is owned by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council and is located on the first floor of Brewers Quay. Admission is free but voluntary donations are welcome to help purchase new exhibits and further the work of the Museum.
